nutter fort fire Department

The Nutter Fort Fire Department is a combination Fire and EMS department located in central Harrison County, WV.

Located just minutes from downtown Clarksburg and Bridgeport, we serve an area of 90 square miles covering a 3 mile portion of Interstate 79 as well as a stretch of US Route 20 and US Route 57 through the communities of Nutter Fort, Quiet Dell, Center Branch, Walnut Hill, Willow Beach, Craigmoor, Romines Mills, and Bisetown. We also provide mutual aid to every fire department in Harrison County and to any agency that needs our assistance.

Being one of the most aggressive and proactive departments in the county, our goal is to protect the citizens we serve from threats against life and property, to develop and train to increase knowledge and skill, while showing pride, dedication, courage, respect, kindness, patience, and compassion.

ROUTE 20 FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

On April 12th, 1982, The Harrison County Commission approved the formation of the Rural Fire Protection District known as Quiet Dell RFPD. Nutter Fort Fire Department and Stonewood Volunteer Fire department have thus been responsible for answering alarms within in this district and for dispatching any alarms for any property contained within the boundary of the Quiet Dell Rural Fire Protection District as established by the Harrison County Commission. Since its formation in 1982, Nutter Fort and Stonewood have been serving the Quiet Dell Rural Fire Protection District at no cost to the residents they have served for over 40 years.

Unfortunately, due to the rising costs as well as the state of the economy, the fire departments have approved the assessment of fire service fees to be able to continue serving the Quiet Dell RFPD.

ROSEBUD FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT FIRE SERVICE FEE

ROSEBUD FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT FIRE SERVICE FEE

On June 14, 2022, The Town of Nutter Fort Council implemented an ordinance permitting the Town of Nutter Fort to assess fire service fees for properties located outside of the corporate limits of the Town, but within the Town's first due fire service area. Unfortunately, due to the rising costs of operation, the fees were necessary to provide the same reliable coverage and service to the area.

As required by the State of West Virginia, notice of the public hearing was published in the local newspaper on June 2, 2022. The public hearing was held on June 14, 2022 at 6:30PM.

You may view the ordinance here.

Payments can be made by cash, check (made payable to the Town of Nutter Fort), or online by credit/debit card(fees apply) or ACH/Bank Transfer(no fee) using the link below.

If you have any further questions, you can use our contact us link or call Leslie Cummings, at 304-622-7713 ext. 102.
